I hope you are well and staying warm wherever you are (it’s currently snowing in Brighton!)
Please find below some information on 3 important areas one which one needs a response asap, please. Half-term holiday bookings, Grades / books and Blog.
Half-term bookings
As usual, we will be offering students lessons over the half-term period (15th-21st Feb) at the same days and times that they usually receive them.
Please respond to this email asap (ideally by end of play tomorrow 08.02.21) to confirm which days you can teach in the half-term holidays. We will then contact the parents and book them in for you. Please still respond even if you can’t teach any of your normal days.
If you are available to teach in the half-term holidays, please promote this to your students and their parents this coming week. There will be a reminder in the daily text you receive.
Grades / books
This is a notification that we will be making contact with you soon to take a record of which books you are using in lessons and which of your students are entering grade exams. While we recognise that for a small percentage of students, grades aren’t appropriate and therefore the offering isn’t mandatory – for the majority, the use of books and grades is hugely beneficial for their progression. This helps with structuring the lessons and historically, greatly improves student retention by keeping the parents happy with their development.
We have a tutor specific grade page within mySAM with more information. You may need to log in and out of mySAM and hard refresh the page to see it.
Another reason to keep track of this is to celebrate the successes of our students through social media. It means a lot to them to see a picture of them with their certificate and inspires more students to do the same. Please wait for us to make contact about the grades and books while we develop a tracking system.
Blog
There is also a new Blog section. Within the blog section there is a post specifically about Trinity Rock and Pop online exams which I recommend reading as it explains how easy it is for a student to sit an exam online.
We will be updating this monthly, I welcome any suggestions to future content that you would like to see there.
