Comment feature – what is it and why have we added it?
The comment feature has two main benefits:
1 – Communication: This is a new way of reaching out to the SAM admin team about specific lessons if required, rather than emailing. This includes the already existing student absence, with the addition of common issues such as the parent not purchasing a required book, needing a technical support call, or help with entry for a grade exam. We can add to this, so if you have any suggestions of regular issues that could be added, please let us know!
2 – Encouraging student performances (the exciting one!): By letting us know that a student has performed a piece well in their lesson, this will automatically send the recording to the SAM team for review. We will then gain consent from the parent and compile a ‘best bits’ video to send the schools that we teach for. The aim will be that the students recordings will be shown in school assemblies and will give them the confidence to perform live! This is also very useful for showing schools how the students are progressing and for us to approach schools that we don’t currently teach in. We imagine tutors will use this while preparing for an exam, or for a band performance or a show at a school (alongside our Christmas medley!)
How to use it?
Simply select the comments option at the bottom of your lesson report and choose the relevant one. There are instructions on what content to include in the box that will open up.
